North Texas ENT & Allergy Center
North Texas ENT & Allergy Center was founded by Dr. Russell Otto to provide high quality treatment for traditional ear, nose, throat, and allergy-related issues. Over the years of providing care for our community, we have seen that the traditional insurance-based model, with short and infrequent appointments, and dependence on pharmaceuticals and surgery only, often did not allow for the depth of care we wanted to provide. In response, we have shifted our focus to create an all-encompassing holistic healing experience for our practice members affected by chronic inflammatory conditions.Â
It is our vision to be a guiding light to a growing community of empowered individuals who have potentially prevented chronic illness, reversed the aging process, and are living longer, healthier lives. To do that, we partner with each practice member in creating individualized holistic treatment plans which consider the practice member’s internal and external environments. In addition to performing advanced diagnostic testing and interpretation, we acknowledge and treat drivers of disease that can’t be uncovered by basic labs.
About The North Texas TeamÂ

Dr. Russell Otto
Russell Otto, MD, FACS, graduated from University of Missouri Medical School and then continued his medical training in a general surgery internship at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics for one year. After entering active duty with the United States Army, he completed his residency in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center where he served as chief resident. He is currently board certified in otolaryngology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. Additionally, he holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri. And after many years of service to our nation in the Medical Corps, Dr. Otto retired as a Colonel in the United States Army.
Dr. Otto began researching and studying functional medicine in the early 2000’s, searching for answers to help family members struggling with the traditional western medical approach. At that time, his wife was working to stabilize her autoimmune condition, and his father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The traditional approaches to managing those diseases left his loved ones feeling sicker and in a worse condition than before. He became frustrated with the piecemeal approach offered by conventional medicine, and wanted help them heal in a more holistic manner. He then asked himself, “How can I become the physician I would want them to see?”
Dr. Otto began training with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) which teaches healthcare professionals to get to the root cause of lifestyle driven disease through a patient centered, systems biology approach. He has also trained with the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM). Through IFM, he has completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice, which teaches clinicians to more effectively integrate science, research, and clinical insights to treat and prevent disease and maintain health. He has also completed six additional advanced practice modules; including Immune, Cardiometabolic, GI, Environmental Health, Bioenergetics, and Hormones. He has completed advanced training in homeopathy medicine, receiving an internationally recognized certification with the Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH). Dr. Otto regularly attends continuing education modules along with ongoing mentorships in the functional medicine field.
